Mr.Craig Wilshaw, Planning Officer from Cheshire East Council, attended the meeting to discuss the above Amended Planning Application and outlined the background to this plan. The following points were discussed.

  • An Enforcement Notice still stands on some of the site.
  • The application is not an increase of pitches.
  • There are 2 transit pitches and 3 residential pitches.
  • There will be no increase in the size of the site.
  • The ménage is out of the plan.
  • Washing facilities etc have been added
  • The planning application will be discussed at a meeting of Strategic Planning Board on 16th February 2011.
  • Some legal advice has been taken in case of a possible appeal.
  • There is an "in principle" consent for use of the land.
  • If the current plan is approved it will supersede the conditions.
  • It has use of the site for gypsy caravans.
  • All conditions for the site will be set out in the report to the Strategic Board with regard to the current application.
  • The amount of pitches is important.
  • The Inspectorate says the site is illegal as quoted by a resident.
  • The site could end up as a small industrial park in the future.
  • Residents say there is hardcore and a digger already on the site.
  • A site visit will be arranged by the Committee.
  • Mr.Wilshaw agreed to make another site visit.
  • The report to Committee will be available on the 11th February 2011.
  • Mr.Scragg thanked Mr.Wilshaw for coming to the meeting which has never happened in the past.
  • Following Mr.Wilshaw's departure, there were comments from the residents and it was agreed to arrange a meeting for 9th February 2011 at 6.15pm to discuss this further and Mr.Roger Fowler will be asked to attend by residents.
