Minutes of a meeting of Moston Parish Council
held on Monday 10th September 2007 at Warmingham Parish Hall

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

The minutes of the last meeting, which had been circulated, were agreed and signed as a correct record.

2. MATTERS ARISING

A letter from the Borough Council regarding the Pet Cemetery had been circulated and it was agreed that this matter should be monitored.

It was agreed that a letter be sent to the Borough Council again expressing concern regarding Horseshoe Farm and requesting that the Planning Department respond to us before the next Planning Committee at the end of September 2007.

A copy of this letter to be sent to Councillors Oliver and Goodall.

Also agreed that a copy of the statistics regarding travellers be sent to each Councillor.

3. ANNUAL AUDIT 2006/07

The Clerk intimated that the Annual Accounts had now been approved by the external auditor with no errors.

4. STREET LIGHTS MOSTON

Concern was expressed regarding the many street lights in Moston which are either on all day or out all day and night.

It was agreed that a letter be sent to the Borough Council stating that the Parish Council consider that these lights are now a safety issue, with a copy to Councillors Oliver and Goodall with a request for a response before our next meeting in November.

5. ACCOUNTS

The following accounts were agreed:

Lyreco £47.00
Hire of Hall £70.00

6. MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT

The Code of Conduct, which had been circulated, was approved.

It was also agreed that Mrs Whittaker and Mrs.Beech should attend the training session at Westfields on 8th November 2007.

7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

The following were agreed:-

  • That a letter be sent to United Utilities regarding flooding in Green Lane and requesting someone to take a look and let us know what course of action they will take.
  • Expressing concern that the Lane has already flooded this year and two cars have already come off the road.
  • A further letter to United Utilities regarding continuing smells in Oakwood Lane by the Moat.
  • A copy of all the above letters to be sent to Councillor Goodall.

    That a copy of the traveller statistics be emailed to Mr Sant and Mr.Gerrish.

The next meeting will be held on Monday 12th November 2007 at 7.45 pm.

There being no further business the meeting was closed.
